All the dogs are chopping at the bit for the release of the graphic novel Johnny Delgado Is Dead, which tells the tale of a modern day bandito/hero in the spirit of Joaquin Murrieta and Zorro who returns to his hometown of Phoenix, Arizona to rid the place of the drug runners and thugs that have taken over. In keeping with the times, instead of a horse our hero rides a steed of chrome and steel. We approached Harley-Davidson about using one of their bikes in our story and they flipped over the idea. Not only did they agree, but actually supplied us with a whole slew of detail on how the bike would be customized and look in keeping with the character description for our hero. In addition, Harley-Davison has supplied us with a replica of the bike we will be giving away to one lucky gear head.

Spacedog has been selected as one of 4 agencies to present at this years Creative Summit in Los Angeles. The Creative Summit celebrates the best examples of integrated campaigns as selected by Yahoo! This year we will be presenting a campaign we did for Mazda, the campaign was launched as a graphic novel and had extensions online, video games, print ads and at conventions and events – I do believe that is what they mean when they say “integration”.
The festivities start on Thursday, Dec. 6th at 12noon and will be at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. This is our 2nd time presenting. In 2005, we were selected for our Carl’s Jr. “Spicy Paris” campaign. We had a great time, but this year we want to walk away with the “Purple Chair”. Voting is done by the audience so swing by and give us some support.

Bringing Best Buy to a Desktop Near You…
Working with Razorfish/AvenueA, Spacedog developed the back-end for a new Best Buy Widget featured on the Yahoo! Widget Gallery. The widget allows people to keep track of the gifts that friends and family have asked for. We built a nifty calendar and editing tool to keep track of this information and then tied it into an XML and Search Function that ties into the Best Buy system. Grab the Best Buy Widget for yourself – http://widgets.yahoo.com/widgets/best-buy-desktop-planner
Thanks to our friends at Yahoo!. They recommended us for this project based on our status as a preferred vendor for Widget Development. YES! WE’VE MADE IT!
